  If you are a veteran and would like to access acupuncture treatments, you may request a referral from your VA provider to Archetype Acupuncture (Sun Yun, LAc) or call 808-838-6519. Once we receive the referral, we’ll contact you to schedule your first appointment. This service is fully covered by the VA with no copay. We are honored to support America’s Veterans.

❌ INSURANCES NOT ACCEPTED

• We do not accept health insurance plans such as Medicare, HMSA, HMAA, Kaiser, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Medicaid, or MVA/auto accident claims (Personal Injury Protection or third-party liability), among others.

  • Beginning November 2025, we no longer accept Workers’ Compensation cases. While we’ve greatly valued helping injured workers recover, the administrative process has become increasingly burdensome. To preserve the quality and integrity of our work, we’ve chosen to step away from Workers’ Compensation billing and remain fully focused on direct, patient-centered treatment guided by clinical need, not insurance policy.

• SUPERBILLS

  • We can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you may submit to your health insurance for potential reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network acupuncture coverage.

  • Archetype Acupuncture is considered an out-of-network provider and we do not bill insurance companies directly.

  • If you’d like to seek reimbursement, you’re welcome to do so by contacting your insurance company to confirm your out-of-network acupuncture benefits and ask how to submit your superbill.

  • Please note that any reimbursement is handled entirely between you and your insurance provider. We’re not involved in the review, approval, or payment process, and reimbursement amounts vary depending on your individual plan.
