Archetype Acupuncture was founded to bridge traditional acupuncture with modern musculoskeletal care. The clinic focuses on orthopedic, sports-related, and movement-based conditions, using acupuncture as a precise clinical tool rather than a generalized wellness service.
Care integrates Eastern and Western medical frameworks with an emphasis on functional outcomes. Treatments are tailored to the demands of sport, work, and daily life, whether the goal is recovery, improved performance, or long-term resilience. Care is collaborative, and patients are encouraged to stay engaged and informed throughout the process.
Practitioner
Sun Yun, LAc
Licensed Acupuncturist
Sun’s approach is shaped by training in both Western medicine and acupuncture, along with firsthand experience navigating injury and recovery. After more than a decade working in pharmacy, he developed a strong appreciation for conventional medicine and its limitations when addressing chronic pain, movement dysfunction, and complex musculoskeletal conditions.
Personal experience with sports-related injuries and knee surgeries further refined his clinical focus toward identifying root contributors to pain, restoring movement quality, and supporting long-term recovery rather than short-term relief.
Today, his work centers on evidence-informed, individualized care that combines modern pain science, an understanding of how the nervous system and musculoskeletal system interact, and manual therapy within a thoughtful East–West framework. Care is delivered in a calm, professional setting where communication and clarity are prioritized.
Clinical Focus
Archetype Acupuncture specializes in conditions involving pain, injury, and movement limitation, including:
Orthopedic and sports-related injuries
Acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain
Joint, tendon, and post-surgical conditions
Overuse and repetitive strain injuries
Movement dysfunction affecting daily life and performance
Care is structured, goal-oriented, and adapted to the tissues and systems involved.
Approach to Care
Treatment begins with a focused evaluation to guide care. Sessions may incorporate targeted acupuncture techniques, myofascial and trigger point work, and electroacupuncture when appropriate.
The goal is not only pain relief, but meaningful improvements in mobility, strength, coordination, and confidence in movement. Treatment plans evolve over time based on response to care, functional goals, and real-world demands, with open communication encouraged throughout.
